Cristiano Ronaldo has been included in FIFA 22’s Premier League Best XI, with the recently re-signed Manchester United star joined by teammate Bruno Fernandes.

Ronaldo’s sensational return to Old Trafford was announced at the end of August, and he’s quickly got to work on continuing his legacy at the club.

The Portugal captain starred in a two-goal match-winning display against Newcastle in his second debut for the club, putting paid to many arguments about how successful his return would be.

FIFA have now joined in the debate by putting Ronaldo in their Premier League XI of the league’s highest rated players.

The big shock came when it was announced that Ronaldo’s overall rating of 91 dropped him below Robert Lewandowski, who moved into second place as the game’s best player behind Lionel Messi.

Ronaldo and Messi had been the game’s two highest rated players for years

Ronaldo’s rating of 91 is matched by Manchester City and Belgium’s Kevin De Bruyne, while just behind are Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante on 90.

Liverpool have the heaviest representation with four of their squad in the team.

Mohamed Salah sits alongside Kane, while the entire back three is made up of Liverpool stars Andy Robertson, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Heung-min Son caps off the midfield, while Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson completes the XI.

FIFA’s Premier League XI looks pretty impressive

Liverpool’s Alisson Becker was the highest rated player to miss out on the team, matching Ederson’s total of 89, alongside teammate Sadio Mane with the same score, and closely followed by Romelu Lukaku and Raheem Sterling on 88.

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe will be the game’s cover star for the second edition running, with his rating of 91 the joint third highest along with Ronaldo, De Bruyne, Jan Oblak, and teammate Neymar.

FIFA 22 is set to be launched on October 1 and will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox series, Xbox One and Windows.
